One of the region's best standalone rappels — a big single drop off trees into a deep, popular swimming hole with cliff jumps ranging from a modest 12 feet up to a genuine 60. Heavily trafficked, but worth it.
A short walk in gets you to one big rappel — around 110-120 feet off trees down to a ledge — above a deep, popular swimming hole. This is as close to a “low commitment, big reward” canyon as the region has, which is exactly why it draws a crowd of climbers, college students, and everyone in between on a warm weekend.
That popularity cuts both ways: expect company, and expect the swimming hole and cliff-jumping spots (12 ft up to a genuine 60 ft) to be busy. It’s still worth the trip — just don’t expect solitude.
Hazards
- Swift water noted; deep swimming holes (20+ feet) are part of the draw but treat them with the same respect as any natural water feature.
- At higher water, look for the dry-line options to one side rather than rigging straight through the flow.
Anchors
Multiple tree options on both sides of the falls — check that whichever tree you choose is actually alive before you trust it. Most parties rig off the right side.
